The engineers who quote your roof are the ones who install it.
Akando Solutions is a Singapore solar contractor built by engineers who have been installing solar here since 2017, inside some of the region's largest solar companies, before setting up on their own in 2022 to strip out the layers that make a rooftop system expensive.

Solar in Singapore costs more than it should.
Our directors spent more than ten years inside the region's biggest solar companies, including Sembcorp Solar and EDPR Renewables (formerly Sunseap), running government, commercial and residential projects on Singapore rooftops since 2017.
From the inside, the pattern was hard to miss. A homeowner's quote carries the cost of a large sales team, layers of management, and a chain of subcontractors who each take a margin. None of that puts a better panel on your roof.
Akando Solutions was incorporated in 2022 to do the same engineering with none of that weight: a small in-house crew, equipment bought direct, and the savings handed to the customer instead of absorbed as overhead.
Since then, that's still the whole model. 280+ systems across Singapore, from Siglap and Telok Kurau to Thomson, Holland and West Coast, installed by our own people.
Four things we hold ourselves to.
These are the commitments we'd want if it were our own roof.
Your project is never subcontracted
The engineer who designs your system is the one managing the crew on your roof. Nobody hands your job to a third party you've never met.
We model conservatively, on purpose
Our proposals assume three sun-hours a day. Most quotes in the market use 3.5 or more, which makes payback look shorter on paper. We'd rather your system beat our numbers than miss them.
One fixed price, written down
The proposal states the system cost, what's included, and the two things that aren't: scaffolding if your roof needs it, and panel-count changes after installation begins. No surprises at invoice time.
We're still here after commissioning
Two maintenance visits are included in the first three years, and you deal with the same two people afterwards. Our directors' mobile numbers are on this page for a reason.
The directors run the work, not just the company.
Akando is growing, and the standard we hire to is the one our directors set: every project answers to one of them.
Kienan Yeo
In solar since 2017 and a senior engineer before co-founding Akando, Kienan has personally managed government, commercial and residential projects. He sizes your system, plans the layout on your roof, and owns quality assurance from survey to commissioning.
Nicholas Ng
Over a decade in solar business and customer advisory, covering everything from single homes to commercial rooftops. Nicholas is your first point of contact: he walks you through the proposal, the numbers behind it, and stays your contact after the system is running.
Registered, certified, and easy to check.
Every claim on this page is something you can verify before you sign anything.
280+ roofs, and counting.
Tile, metal and concrete. Terraces, semi-detached homes, bungalows and commercial roofs.

In our customers’ words.
Every one of these is a verified Google review on our business profile, in the customer’s own words. Surnames are shortened at their request.
Timothy, the Business Development Manager, is highly knowledgeable and professional. He previously managed my father’s solar installation, and based on that positive experience, I entrusted my own property to him as well.
Just what I was looking for! Kienan and team was clever, reliable and professional. They responded to all my questions, concerns and any feedback most promptly. The team was very helpful with staging the works.
What homeowners ask us first.
How do I know you'll still be around in ten years?
You don't, and no installer can prove it. What you can check is how long we've been doing this, how many systems we've installed, and whether our registrations are current: on Singapore roofs since 2017, incorporated in 2022, 280+ systems, bizSAFE Level 3 to December 2027, BCA ME03.
The other protection is the equipment warranty. Panel and inverter warranties are held by the manufacturer, not by us, so they survive whatever happens to any installer.
What if my roof leaks after the installation?
Tell us and we'll come and look at it. Most leaks trace back to a roof that was already near the end of its life, which is why we inspect the roof condition during the site survey and say plainly if we think it needs attention before panels go on.
Why is your price lower than the big companies?
Lower overhead, not lower specification. We're a small in-house team, we buy equipment direct, and we don't subcontract, so there's no chain of margins between you and the roof. The panels and inverters we install are the same brands the larger firms use.
Do I have to deal with SP Group or the authorities myself?
No. We prepare and submit the SP Group application and handle the commissioning process. Your part is signing where required.
What happens after the system is switched on?
Two maintenance visits are included over the first three years. After that, servicing is charged per visit. Your inverter's monitoring app shows what the system is producing at any time, and you still deal with the same two people.
Come and look at our work before you decide.
Send us your postal code and we'll do a feasibility check. If the roof suits solar, we'll visit, measure, and give you a fixed-price proposal with a 30-year return table modelled on your actual roof.
